Peter Ende
President and CEO, EMI Music Publishing Continental Europe
Peter Ende has been president and CEO of EMI Music Publishing Continental Europe since May 2004.
He entered the music business in Germany as a qualified industry economist at Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft/Siemens, then a broad-based record company and now a purely classical label. In 1969 he moved into marketing at Deutsche Grammophon and over the next eight years worked his way up through positions in advertising, national and international pop product management and A&R. In 1977 he moved to Intersong Musikverlage as general international manager. In 1980 he was appointed as managing director of EMI Music Publishing Germany, the company he has led ever since and where he is currently president and CEO of Germany/Switzerland/Austria in addition to his broader responsibilities across Europe. EMI Music Publishing Germany has been the market leader for many years. During his career Ende has signed many successful local and international artists, writers and catalogues. He is a board member of the German collection society GEMA and he represents EMI Music Publishing Germany on various industry boards.
